ASHTANGA
Sri K. Pattabhi, along with Iyengar, is one of the grandfather yoga. He developed Ashtanga yoga in Mysore, India after studying with Krishnamacharya. Ashtanga in Sanskrit means Eight Limbs, is similar to Hatha yoga, with many of the same postures, but in a strict and intense sequence.
KIDS YOGA
A fun, creative approach to yoga for kids whose bodies are still developing. the use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach kids how to focus, relax, develop self-control and help to release energy.
HATHA
The word Hatha is a combination of two Sanskrit words, HA or Sun and THA or Moon.
One of the meanings of Hatha is union of opposites. This practice combines yoga postures or asanas along with pranayama breath works and meditation to create a union of mind and body. There is variation in style technique depending upon the tradition from which the instructors come as well as their own inspirations and experimentation.
POWER YOGA
Power yoga is a style of yoga practice that was originally closely modeled on Ashtanga yoga.? But unlike Ashtanga, power yoga does not follow a set of series.? As such, power yoga classes can vary widely from teacher to teacher and usually they emphasis on strength and flexibility.
Power yoga classes most likely appeal to people who enjoy exercising as they can be vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa yoga.
PRENATAL YOGA
By toning the body, mind and spirit, yoga can help a mother prepare for the miracle of birth. The class is specially designed for women who are at any stage of pregnancy and provides physical and emotional benefits for the mother and the baby in the womb. Prenatal yoga is a great way to prepare for labor and enhance the experience of pregnancy.
VINYASA/YOGA FLOW
Similar to Ashtanga and Hatha styles, this is series of yoga postures or asanas practices in rhythmic flow with the breath.
YOGA FOR RUNNERS
